KDL Distributes Five Hundred Basic Food Packages to Communities Affected by the Covid-19 Pandemic
Tuesday 11:17 / May 12, 2020
Covid-19 pandemic which began to plague in Indonesia since March 2020 directly or indirectly affected all levels of society, especially the middle to lower economic classes in all parts of Indonesia including Cilegon. Layoffs and reduced rights obtained by workers also often occur due to poor company conditions. Workers who earn daily income also feel it because of the social restrictions imposed by the government so that more people are at home, reducing interaction with others in order to suppress the spread of Covid-19.
PT Krakatau Daya Listrik together with the United Employees Union, Baitul Maal, Periska, and the Mosque Prosperity Board jointly raise funds to help alleviate the affected people of the Covid-19 epidemic such as widows, day laborers such as motorcycle taxis, stalls, and others. Donations are open for a week from 7 to 12 April 2020.
A total of 400 food packages containing rice, oil, sugar and canned food were collected through the donation. On Friday, May 8, 2020, the food packages aid was symbolically handed over to two kelurahan in the Citangkil Subdistrict region which were included in the PT KDL Ring 1 area, namely Warnasari and Samangraya Sub-Districts by the Managing Director, Mr. Gersang Tarigan. The remaining 100 packages were distributed to widows, motorcycle taxi drivers and daily sellers around Cilegon.
